Ticket to Ride!

Experience the evolution of transportation from horse-drawn buggies and wagons, the canal era, trains, planes, and automobiles. Get a hands-on lesson in how our country went from need to speed!
Day One : Travel Day to Canton, Ohio. Arrive to host hotel in the afternoon, welcome reception. Dinner at the Military Aviation Preservation Society (MAPS). Enjoy a guided tour, see WWII planes in the restoration process, enjoy a bountiful feast, then climb into a MIG fighter jet. One of the finest aviation museums in the country!
Day Two: Depart with guide following
breakfast. We will stop at Canton Classic Car Museum
which showcases the evolution of the automobile along with fabulous
memorabilia from Canton history. See rare cars in a unique setting
in historic downtown Canton. Then it's off to scenic Atwood
Lake for a cruise aboard the Atwood Queen. A delicious
lunch will be served at the Resort Lodge following the lake
cruise. We will slow things down a bit with a leisurely Amish
buggy ride and make a few stops at some quaint Amish businesses.
Dinner this evening will be at Warther Carvings, Gardens,
and Knife Shop. View the priceless steam engine carvings,
stroll the Swiss Gardens to Mrs. Warther's button house with
over 70,000 buttons arranged in artwork, and visit the knife
shop where the Warther family creates the finest kitchen cutlery.
Enjoy a candlelight dinner in the Ivory Room surrounded by the
amazing one-of-a-kind works of art!
Day Three: Following breakfast we will head north for ride on the Cuyahoga Scenic Railroad. A brief city tour of Akron will follow including history on how Akron helped revolutionize the transporation industry featuring a stop at Stan Hywet, home of Goodyear Tire Baron Frank Seiberling. Enjoy a tour of the gorgeous Tudor style mansion and fabulous gardens and grounds. Lunch will be on your own at Quaker Square, site of the Orginal Quaker Oats factory. Oatmeal cookie for everyone! In the afternoon we will take a canal boat ride aboard the Helena II in historic Canal Fulton. We will return to the hotel for a break before supper. Supper will be a Presidential Affair at the McKinley Museumand Presidential Library. Enjoy dinner with William McKinley as he shares his life as the 22 nd President of the United States. Enjoy touring the museum following dinner.
Day Four: Depart area following breakfast
Tour can be custom designed with add-on options with an
additional day to visit the Dayton Airforce Museum. Other attractions
in the Akron, Canton, Amish Country areas can be added on based
on your group's interests.
